Measured building surveys are carried out using up to date specialist hardware and software. We have a variety of techniques available to us and will always use the most appropriate option to maximise efficiency and deliver accurate results to you.

Floor Plans

Floor plans are surveyed using the latest state of the art reflector-less total stations, enabling any angles and detail in the rooms to be shown with pin-point accuracy. This, combined with Our specialist software enables the collection of data to be viewed in the field in real time.

We can accurately place services and objects in the rooms, with our symbol library being comprehensive enough to cover most eventualities, and flexible enough to allow us to introduce additional symbols to keep our survey results inline with your needs. Whether you need us to show structural detail such as walls, doors, windows and beams, or you need a fully detailed survey down to light switches and plug sockets, we can offer you a survey package to satisfy the most demanding of clients.

Roof Plans

Our roof plan surveys are conducted with the latest in class 3 reflector-less total stations, which enable us to obtain roof detail and levels to the highest possible precision in total safety. As with all of our surveys, we discuss your requirements at the earliest opportunity and offer a solution that is best suited to your situation.

Building Sections

Building cross sections are an important tool to aid your understanding of how different parts of a building relate to each other. Sections through the building can be produced at any point based on the floorplan data, being combined with floor levels and ceiling levels, and can be drawn to any level of complexity you desire. We can produce simple sections of the building at key points, through to fully detailed elevational sections as required.

Levels are quoted on the drawing at the key structural points, which can relate to local grid, national grid, OS bench marks or GPS datum levels as required.

Elevations

We have 2 main approaches when producing our elevations. Our more traditional method is of Using reflector-less total stations and up to date specialist software in conjunction with a laptop computer. This method produces good quality 2d linework of the faces of buildings, surveyed and drawn at a detail level agreed with you and is capable of producing drawings ranging from basic structural detail down to a brick by brick survey of the facade.

More often than not, a more appropriate technique involves our 3D laser scanner. This produces very high quality data across the entire face of a building and allows us to produce all sorts of final drawings. We can produce the traditional 2D linework if required, but using the scanner offers several advantages and allows the delivery of much more detailed products. We can produce fully scaled, dimensionable and rectified photos of an elevation. This is much better than a 2d linework drawing. It allows the measurements you would normally make, but shows in detail all the features on the elevation and not just a limited set of features.

The data from the scanner also allows for the production of full 3D models. These can be photo rendered to create a lifelike scene and can lead to fly throughs and visualisations of future development.

Elevations are vital to architects and building consultants for planning permission. The production of detailed plans enable designs to be completed quickly and reduces the need for costly site visit.
