GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS)

Using GPS adds another level of flexibility to the many approaches we can adopt. It helps by extending survey control over large areas much more quickly than traditional methods, and allows the surveyor to roam over the area to survey with much more freedom. Not only will you not need line of sight between the base unit and the rover, but it allows one man to perform the survey and using GPS totally removes the need to rely on permanent landscape features to embed control into. A new base station can be installed years later if necessary, and the surveyor will still be working on the same grid.

The number of people who rely on GPS is growing daily. Many professionals, from archaeologists to site engineers now appreciate its flexibility, speed and accuracy. GPS surveying is fast becoming part of many disciplines, so if you are unsure whether using our GPS services would be of use to you, then please get in touch so we can discuss your needs and help you decide which survey approach best fits your situation.
