3D LASER SCANNING
INDUSTRIAL SITES
Industrial facilities are large and complicated beasts. Maintaining and updating them relies on accurate schematics, but all too often as built drawings are out of date and erroneous. This can cause long and costly delays, even if the mistakes are discovered before construction starts.
Laser scanning offers a fast, reliable and accurate way of maintaining plans. The design team can then comfortably plan new pipe lines and extend facilities confident in the knowledge that everything will work. In addition, once a design model is produced this can be placed inside the raw point cloud for clash detection analysis to make doubly sure that no mistakes have been made.
It is not always possible to schedule survey work during site down time. Therefore the remote nature of the laser scan survey and the speed with which data is collected often means that the survey avoids disrupting the site work at all, minimising costs to our clients and eliminating some safety concerns.
